We're Getting Started

Welcome to the Child Poverty US official blog! Stick with us for future announcements and projects in the coming days!

Child Poverty US is a New York based organization that looks to provide exposure on the poverty epidemic in the United States. We are dedicated to providing creative and thoughtful content to bring issues of child poverty to the public eye. Through film, advertisement, and online presence, Child Poverty US aims to bring help and attention to those who need it most.

Follow Borges and Priest's progress on Twitter @ChildPovertyUS or email harrison.priest@childpovertyus.org to sign-up for updates as they prepare to launch a five-week Kickstarter crowdsourcing campaign to finance SEARCHING FOR LOS RÍOS, a documentary feature film project investigating U.S. Latino childhood poverty at the beginning of the 21st Century.

Eddie Borges is an award-winning journalist who was a staff writer at The New York Daily News and The Miami Herald and a contributing writer at The Village Voice, The New York Observer, and Los Angeles Magazine. He also ran the campaign that led to the closing of most of New York's juvenile jails where black and Latino children were mistreated and a child was killed.

Recent Skidmore College graduate Harrison Priest was involved in launching a successful Kickstarter campaign when he was a student. He also has worked for the popular soccer quarterly Eight by Eight Magazine.
